Installation Guide

Claude

Install the plugin from the Claude marketplace, or run the following command from a Claude session:

  • Install the plugin:

    • bash
       /plugin install mongodb

  • Follow the prompts to complete the installation, then run /reload-plugins to activate it.

    • Cursor

    Install the plugin from the Cursor marketplace, or run the following command from a Cursor session:

  • Install the plugin:

    • bash
       /add-plugin mongodb

  • Follow the prompts to complete the installation.

    • Gemini

    Install the extension from the Gemini marketplace, or run the following command from Gemini CLI:

  • Install the extension:

    • bash
       gemini extensions install https://github.com/mongodb/agent-skills

  • Follow the prompts to complete the installation.

    • Copilot CLI

    Install the plugin from the GitHub repository: /plugin install https://github.com/mongodb/agent-skills.git. Then restart Copilot CLI to activate the MCP server.

    Install using Vercel's Agent Skills Directory

  • Add the skills you want to your agent:

    • bash
       npx skills add mongodb/agent-skills

  • Install the MCP server: npx mongodb-mcp-server@1 setup and follow the instructions.

    • Local install from repository

  • Clone the repository:

    • bash
       git clone https://github.com/mongodb/agent-skills.git
